Mah Jongg is a game of skill coupled with wit and fortune. It originated in China and dates back about 2,000 years.
The game consists of 152 tiles. There are 3 suits with 36 tiles each (Bamboo,
Characters, and Dots), Winds(16 tiles), Dragons(12 tiles), Flowers(8 tiles) and
Jokers(8 tiles). A card with a variety of “hands” is created each year. The object is to match one of the “hands” on the card.
Each of the 4 players is dealt 13 tiles to start the game. Tiles are selected and
discarded until one of the players matches a hand declaring a Mah Jongg.
